Regulations are based on Enforcement Act for Non-school-based Experimental Education at Senior High School Level or Below (https://edu.law.moe.gov.tw/LawContent.aspx?id=GL001382), which was proclaimed on November 19th, 2014 and amended on January 31st, 2018.

Taipei City Government's Department of Education has approved the establishment of Horizon Academy. The document number of approval is 1103115903.
The student status of Horizon Academy is placed in Taipei Municipal Ying-Qiao Elementary School.

The Exploratory class complies with The Curriculum Guidelines of 12-year Basic Education.

We also adopt Taipei City Elementary English and Alternative Curriculum Guidelines as well as elements of guidelines set forth in California's Common Core English Language Arts Standards (CCELAS).

The courses cover the require scope of Mandarin and English, mathematics, social studies, science, art, integrative activities, technology, and PE. Students will have a solid foundation for junior high school in Taiwan.

The inquiry method emphasizes on student-centered learning and learning autonomy.

A natural English-learning environment and a second foreign language basis give advantage to the students.

The Mandarin and mathematics class hours at Horizon Academy exceed the ones for public school. With a solid foundation, children have the advantage when applying for schools domestically and internationally.

With the multiple assessment method, children build their confidence by integrating knowledge and skills in a positive learning attitude.

There is a fitness space available. Students use the area for gymnastics, fitness and rhythmic activities in PE classes, or exercising during break time under the supervision of a teacher.

There is a table tennis room on the 1st floor of the building. Children can play during PE class and the break time every day.

There will be transportation arrangement to drive kids to nearby public schools with gym and field, and Taipei City Jhong Jheng Sports Center as well.

Grades are not the only criterion. Horizon Academy takes multiple assessment method to evaluate the learning process.

We encourage and assist children to take international standardized tests, such as TOEFL Primary, YLE, DELF Prim and IMAS.

Progress in Art and PE class will be evaluated by performances and competitions.

Students need to be at school before 7:50.

The class starts at 8:00 and ends at 15:30.

After-school clubs are between 15:30-17:30. They are optional and require additional fees.
There are three terms in an academic year at Horizon Academy, please refer the chart as below:
Horizon Academy will organize extended learning activities in arts and physical education (additional fees may apply) or recommend relevant educational activities and resources for parents to choose from.

We devote ourselves to build a comfortable and safe learning environment. Our staff will take gender equality, school and family bully prevention trainings.

Each class will have two homeroom teachers and not more than 20 students. Each student will receive thorough attention and care.

Peer interaction and character building will be inergrated into courses.

Guidance will be conducted in a weekly base. Teachers will guide students through possible situations which happen in real life, such as arguments between friends, time management, and the death of loved ones, so students build a healthy attitude when dealing with such issues.

The extension school director will be in charge of the crisis management process, which includes sexual harassment, children's protection, and bullying.
The school is located on Guling Street. It is a five-minute walk from the Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall MRT Station. The school does not arrange offer transportation services currently.
A dress code reflects a positive attitude toward learning. Students must wear the school uniform and bring a clean set of PE clothes each day.
